One of my favorite holiday traditions is to make festive
cookies and share them with friends and family.
I love the reactions and looks I get when I know that I am sharing a bit
of myself and putting a smile on the person’s face. It is a priceless gift.

Cranberry and Orange Shortbread Cookies | Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2014
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I
absolutely LOVE making appetizers, hence the weekly series – Friday Night Bites
was born. Next to appetizers, is making
cookies. They are a one to three bite
delight that simply makes your mouth sing and puts a smile on anyone’s
face. With my love of cookies, I was
elated to learn that the 4th annual “Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap2014” was taking place. I immediately
got signed up and anxiously waited for my three matches to arrive in my
email. The next question was – what type
of cookie would I send this year. Here is what I sent in 2011, 2012 and
2013.

Jeweled Ornament Sugar Cookies | 3rd Annual Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap
Happy Holidays
Everyone! Honestly it is hard to fathom
that it is already that time of the year.
For me baking cookies during this time of year is a natural activity and
brings such joy to see the looks and reactions to folks faces when they receive
them. Speaking of cookies, it is time for
the 3rd Annual Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap. I have been excited to be participate for
since the inception and we are able to part of giving back by supporting a
national non-profit called Cookies for Kid’s Cancer through simply being
involved in the great cookie swap. I can’t think of a better event than one
that involves delicious cookies and being able to help others. To learn more about particpating in the event for 2014, simply click

Chocolate Dipped Gingerbread Biscotti | The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2011
What says it is the holiday season more than the traditional cookie swap? It is an age old tradition of making your favorite cookie and trading with friends. With social media in full swing, why not take the traditional cookie swap and take it to new heights. That is just what Lindsay of Love and Olive Oil and Julie of The Little Kitchen did by creating the first annual – “The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2011”.
